I try to fuse the basic shapes of fruit, vegetables, and architectural elements with my idea of form. The crystalline and wood ash family of glazes are some of my favorite surfaces to work with. They flow and move, pool on edges and grow crystal formations as they slide down a vessel shoulder or plate rim.
Classical vessel forms and turn of the century art pottery also influences my work. I try to borrow and build on past traditions and progress forward with a contemporary sensibility.
I like clay.
