July 25-29, 2016 I will be presenting a five day workshop at the Grand Marais Arts Colony. This hands-on workshop includes the demonstration of pieces from my current body of work to glazing ideas and firing in the electric kiln. There will be ample time for each student to ask questions and seek individual attention to foster their personal growth. At the end of the workshop students will have progressed their wheel throwing skills and sharpened their critical thinking of pottery. Fired Up Studios
Fired Up Studios is a ceramic arts dedicated facility. My classes are 6 weeks and focus on functional pots made on the potter's wheel for beginners. You will learn the basics of the thrown pot creating cups, bowls, plates and an assortment of functional items. We finish our pots with the choice of cone 6 or cone 10 glazes fired in electric kilns. For students who have learned the basics of wheel throwing I offer an intermediate class early November.
